- The People’s Republican Party (CHP) Istanbul Deputy Akif Hamzaçebi has made a statement and referred to the coalition talk with the AKP on Aug 3 as the last meeting gathering the delegations, having declared “Our collocutor is the AKP. The President does not have any authority regarding the process of talks”.
“We do not act upon the statement of dear President. Political parties form governments and we address the AKP. PM Davutoğlu was deployed to form the government” noted Hamzaçebi.
CHP’s Hamzaçebi also revealed that the last meeting addressed Turkey’s foreign policy, European Union policy, and education policy.
The next step is expected to gather the chairmen of two parties. “The question of whether the coalition government will be formed is expected to be assigned in this upcoming meeting.
Hamzaçebi added that “declaring ‘we will not share the authority with anyone. If this does not work, we will form a reinforced minority government’ is a disrespect of national will.”
